Message from the Head of the Graduate Program

The institutional foundations of the Department of International Trade and Business at Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University date back to the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, which was established within Balıkesir University in 1993. As the higher education infrastructure in the region developed, this strong academic heritage was transferred to Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University, which was established by Law No. 6640 dated April 23, 2015. The University's academic structure has since been built upon this well-established foundation.
Following the establishment of the University, graduate education activities were expanded under the Institute of Social Sciences, and the Master's Programs in International Trade and Business (with Thesis and Non-Thesis options) were launched with the aim of educating highly qualified professionals specializing in international trade, business administration, and the global economy. Subsequently incorporated into the Institute of Graduate Education, the program has adopted an interdisciplinary approach required by the global economic system and aims to provide contemporary, research-oriented, and practice-based education in the fields of international trade, international logistics, international business strategies, international marketing, finance, management, and sustainable development.
The Department of International Trade and Business has a highly qualified and experienced academic staff. The academic team currently consists of two professors, two associate professors, two assistant professors, two research assistants with doctoral degrees, and two research assistants. This strong academic structure enhances the Department's research capacity while providing graduate students with a high-quality educational environment that supports their academic, research, and professional development.
The program admitted its first students in 2015 and graduated its first cohort in 2018. Since its establishment, five graduates of the program have become academic staff members at various universities, demonstrating the program's significant contribution to the development of academic human resources. In addition, graduates have assumed important positions in public institutions, private sector organizations, and international companies, making valuable contributions to both the business community and the national economy.
Today, the Department of International Trade and Business continues its activities as a dynamic and continuously developing graduate program that emphasizes scientific research, industry collaboration, internationalization, and innovative education. The program aims to educate highly qualified specialists and researchers who are capable of competing in the global environment, possess strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, and are committed to professional ethics.
